1987 — Today
One Line,
Four Decades.
Everything in order — the machine his grandfather bought, fifteen ventures, six publications, twelve closures and the businesses still running. Filter it, or read it straight through.

1987
The beginning
Paper Print Services founded
His father starts a printing press, built from delivering xerox paper on a scooter. It goes on to print for HUL, Cadbury, Raymond, Zodiac, Siyaram, Etihad and Jet Airways.
2001 – 2005
Education
Pennsylvania State University
B.S. in Finance and Economics. The training that would later make him measure every venture against whether the unit economics actually worked.
2002 & 2005
ICICI Prudential, then Merrill Lynch
Financial analyst internships — three months at ICICI Prudential AMC in Mumbai during his second year, then six months at Merrill Lynch in Chicago before graduating.
2005
June
Returns to India, joins the family business
Comes home and joins Paper Print Services as a management trainee — a business he says he never wanted to be part of. Becomes a director in 2007.
2007
The decision
Turns down 2% of PrintBell
The CEO of PrintBell offers him a 2% stake. He declines, certain he can do better himself. PrintBell is VistaPrint India today. The full story →
The origin of everything after
2007 – 2012
Unified Prints
The intended online arm of the printing operation. Five years of development that never produced a live product — the developer could not hold a team together, and it turned out to be his side project.
2008
2008 – present
Print World
Packaging and visual merchandising. Becomes one of only two approved vendors to Zodiac for roughly eight years, sole visual merchandising print vendor to Etam, and handles HUL's first Dove campaign in Mumbai. This is the business that funds everything else.
The one that worked
The engine starts
Zodiac, Etam, HUL
Print World becomes one of only two approved vendors to Zodiac, a position it holds for roughly eight years. It is also sole visual merchandising print vendor to Etam, then in a joint venture with Future Group, coordinating production across around twelve cities from Mumbai. And it handles HUL's first Dove campaign in Mumbai, which included branding an entire mall at Orchid City Centre.
This is what funded the rest
2008 – 2015
CondomPoint
Idea spotted in a newspaper advertisement, started after a one-sentence conversation with his father: if it is business, it is fine. Sourcing learned from the ground up via a local distributor, then taken direct to the brands' CNF agents for better margin. Top-3 Google rankings for four years, and a pivot to B2B supply for eight e-commerce platforms including HomeShop18, Naaptol, IndiaPlaza and Deals&You.
2008 – 2015
22SEO
Search, social and SEM services for internet startups, with a team of twelve specialists.
2010
2010 – 2012
Unified Florists
Global flower delivery across a network of florists in seven countries. One of the earliest Facebook shopping applications in India to complete payment inside Facebook rather than redirecting out.
2011
2011 – 2014
Unified Stores
A marketplace exclusively for home bakers, with delivery handled in-house to protect quality. Associate sponsor of Ithaca at St. Xavier's, November 2011.
2011 – 2014
My Pet Centre
Online pet store, inspired by the family beagle, Mario. Exhibited at the Dog Fair at Colaba Pier.
2012
2012 – 2014
CouponZatak
Coupon aggregator monetised through affiliate networks. Grew from ~100 to 20,000 monthly visitors in seven months.
2013
30 July – 1 August
Sponsors COCK at Prithvi Theatre
CondomPoint is lead sponsor of Mike Bartlett's Olivier Award-winning play, directed by Manish Gandhi. The poster credit reads "Protected by CondomPoint.com." The cast — Jim Sarbh, Sayani Gupta, Nakuul Mehta — were not household names then. More →
2014
Closures
Unified Stores · My Pet Centre · CouponZatak
Three closed in one year, each for a stated reason. Amazon entered pet retail and discounted heavily. Google's Panda update wiped CouponZatak's rankings. Confectionery, it turned out, runs on word of mouth rather than websites.
2015
2015
Unified Papers
A paper vendor aggregator for the printing industry. Every vendor signed up; the customers never followed.
Closures
CondomPoint · 22SEO
CondomPoint closes on demand, not margin — in households where families live together, a discreetly packed box is not discreet. 22SEO closes while still working, because outsourcing made more structural sense than a twelve-person team.
2016
Joins
ASCENT Foundation
Becomes a member of Harsh Mariwala's peer-learning platform for growth-stage entrepreneurs. Goes on to facilitate his Trust Group — a peer board of ten to twelve non-competing entrepreneurs — for six of the next ten years, either formally or in practice.
23 December
LUDIFU PhotoBooks launches
An app: 30–100 phone photos, one per perforated page, ₹199, zero customisation by design. Seeded by GrooveBook on Shark Tank, angel funded by a family member. First real believer: Prithvi Haldea, Founder-Chairman of PRIME Database and a member of SEBI committees, whose order was worth ₹1,500. The amount was irrelevant — the validation was not.
2017
February
Four publications in eight weeks
Hindustan Times (HT DO, Page 11, 25 Feb) · BW Disrupt (15 Feb) · LBB · Mid-day, rated best deal of the Holi weekend.
March
"Successful Failures"
Presents his own record of closed ventures under that title, as a guest lecturer. The intern network stands at 196 students and is growing by roughly seven a day.
January – March
Theatre ads, Fiverr and a college sponsorship
A month of cinema advertising across IMAX PVR, Cinepolis Thane and Inox Malad. His own slide reviewing it reads: "Never do things in josh. Don't go for glory. Theatres are mainly for brands who are well established." The Sydenham College sponsorship, by contrast, accidentally created the internship programme.
2018
2018 – present
LUDIFU Coffee Table Books
A premium category opened by one introduction — Anmol Babani, a friend from Penn State, connects LUDIFU to photographer Shruti Tejwani, and with it her client base of new mothers.
September
The Leaf by Srinathji opens
A 150-seater pure-vegetarian restaurant in Malad West. 450-item menu, 250+ inventory lines, a team of 65 — of whom 45 belong to the franchiser's rotating training pool.
The turnaround
Lunch with Harsh Mariwala
Won by referring ~75 entrepreneurs to ASCENT, the most of anyone. The advice: sit with each person one to one, visibly, and ask "what would you do if you were in my shoes?" The team goes from 65 to 25 and the restaurant runs better. The full story →
2019
November
The Leaf closes
Fourteen months. An expensive education in what happens when a franchiser new to franchising treats your outlet as a training ground for his others.
2020
15 May
LUDIFU Academy launches
Mid-lockdown, with the printing business stalled. Starts with live Excel and PowerPoint workshops at ₹200–₹1,799, taught by his mother's own Excel tutor.
25 August
The Times of India, Page 2
Opening story in a series on Mumbaikars who found new work during the pandemic, by Sharmila Ganesan. Over 400 students by this point.
Mumbai edition
October
Four live demos a day, every day
Begins running four live demo sessions daily, professors joining alongside him. Roughly a thousand sessions by hand before a single one is automated. Continues until July 2021.
2021
June
WA.Expert begins
The WhatsApp automation built so six people could carry three lakh enquiries becomes a product in its own right.
2021 – present
ClickToWish
Automated WhatsApp wishes for birthdays and milestones. Later repriced to ₹15 for 15 people over two years, after learning that people will not pay a premium to be reminded to be thoughtful.
July
The founder removes himself
The live demo is replaced by EverWebinar, Vimeo, Razorpay, ConvertKit and the WhatsApp Business API. Six people go on to handle work that would ordinarily need thirty.
2017 → 2023
The intern network compounds
196 students by March 2017. Over 700 by 2018. More than 4,500 by 2023 — a remote programme spread across the country, onboarding roughly four new interns a day, coordinated entirely through the automation built for students. It is the reason a two percent conversion rate was survivable.
2023
June
LUDIFU Academy stops open batches
Three years, 3,00,000+ enquiries, 6,000+ paid students across ten subjects, with a core team of six. Offices reopened and the conditions that created it had changed. Recordings remain online for every past student. The case study →
